MIKE PIECIAK ENDORSED BY FULL WINDHAM COUNTY DELEGATION

Brattleboro, Vt. — Democratic candidate for Treasurer Mike Pieciak has received the endorsement of the entire 14-person Windham County Legislative Delegation, which includes Democrats, Independents, and Progressives.

In announcing their support, the Windham County Legislative Delegation stated: 

The Windham County Legislative Delegation is proud to support Windham County’s own Mike Piaciak for State Treasurer! 

Mike’s leadership at the Department of Financial Regulation has been a shining example of state government at its best: they regularly have the highest employee satisfaction rates, and lead the nation on a positive approach to regulating complex financial and insurance tools. 

And Mike isn’t afraid to stretch himself and his team well beyond the bounds of duty—his leadership on behalf of the administration on the Pension Task Force was constructive, informed, and balanced, and we’ve all appreciated seeing him as the face of Vermont’s sometimes precarious COVID statistics. He’s not afraid to stay curious, to protect our interests, and to step into the fray. 

Mike’s acumen with management of complex fiscal and political issues will serve Vermonters well as we step into this next phase of our state’s progress. Please join us in supporting Mike Pieciak for Treasurer.

Pieciak was honored by the show of support: “I am touched to receive this key endorsement from the Legislative leaders of Windham County,” Pieciak said. “Having grown up in Brattleboro, this endorsement is particularly meaningful to me. The Windham County delegation has historically been, and continues to be, a powerhouse in Montpelier, which is why I am so thankful to have earned their trust and support.” 

Pieciak will be in Brattleboro for a Campaign Kickoff Event on June 3, 2022 starting at 5:30 pm at the Brooks House Atrium.

Mike Pieciak was most recently the Commissioner of the Department of Financial Regulation, the state’s consumer financial watchdog agency. Under his direction, the Department recouped millions of dollars for Vermont taxpayers and investigated the Jay Peak fraud. Gov. Phil Scott tapped Pieciak to help lead Vermont’s Covid-19 response efforts, where he directed the State’s pandemic data analysis and modeling. He lives in Winooski with his partner.
