Mike’s Story
Mike grew up in Brattleboro, Vermont.
He returned to Vermont after law school and served as the Commissioner of the Department of Financial Regulation, where he recouped millions of dollars for taxpayers and worked to protect consumers from financial harm.
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Phil Scott asked Mike to help lead Vermont’s response as the state’s chief data and modeling expert.
Now, Mike is working to bring down the cost of housing, address climate change, and grow the middle class.
Mike lives in Winooski with his English Setter, Jetty.
Mike’s Values
“We must chart an exciting, energetic, and visionary future — for Vermont and for America. A future that builds a strong and growing middle class. A future that finally treats access to healthcare as a fundamental human right and not a luxury of the few.
A future where children born in Vermont can safely grow up here, afford to go to school here, find a house to buy and find economic opportunities that rival that of any other state. And most importantly – that they can afford to start a family and retire with dignity right here in their home state. ”
